The paper examines the integration of Israeli Arab youths as well as their perceptions regarding their identity and their identification with the state and Jewish culture, as they perceive them. Their integration into the country's social life is reflected in the establishment of social ties with Jewish youngsters; in the studies in Jewish schools; in the study of the Hebrew language, Hebrew literature, Hebrew poetry, and the Bible in the Arab schools; and in the utilization of the information obtained from the Israeli media. The research findings are based on interviews that were held with Arab pupils. The pupils belonged to various religions and resided in diverse geographical regions of the country. The findings indicate that most of the Arab pupils are partially integrated into Israeli society, and reflect their unique and complex situation. The education system is called upon to tackle the above-mentioned difficulties in order to counteract the Arab youngsters' feeling of detachment from Israeli society as a whole.
